Frequently asked questions

What is Integrative Psychiatry?

Integrative Psychiatry redefines healthcare by focusing on health and healing rather than solely on disease. It considers the interconnected roles of mind, body, spirit, and community, while emphasizing the importance of understanding a patient’s culture, beliefs, and lifestyle. This holistic approach inspires meaningful behavioral changes that lead to better health outcomes and more effective, patient-centered care.

What is Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)?

ISTDP helps people break through emotional barriers and tackle unconscious conflicts that affect their mental health. By focusing on deep emotions and building a strong therapist-patient connection, it leads to meaningful, lasting change in a shorter amount of time. It’s especially helpful for anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship struggles. During our initial sessions, I will assess whether ISTDP is the right fit for you and tailor the approach to your needs.

What age groups do you work with?

I work with adults between the ages of 25-60.

Where do you see patients?

I currently offer services exclusively via telehealth, providing a convenient and flexible option for patients. Virtual sessions allow you to connect from the comfort of your home, save travel time, and fit appointments more easily into your schedule—whether you're balancing work, family, or living in a remote area.

What state are you licensed in?

I am licensed to practice in North Carolina and can only provide care to patients who are physically located within the state. If you are outside of North Carolina, you would need to be present in the state at the time of your appointment to receive services.

Do you accept insurance?

I am a cash-pay private practice and do not accept or negotiate with insurance companies. My practice operates on a fee-for-service basis, meaning payment is due at the time of your visit. While I do not offer sliding scale or discounted rates, I can provide a superbill upon request. This can be submitted to your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits, though reimbursement is not guaranteed. This model allows me to dedicate more time during and between sessions to optimize your integrative treatment plan.

What forms of payment are accepted?

I accept payment exclusively through Zelle, a secure and convenient service offered by most banks.
